August 14th: Golfing engineer Steve Beach designed a pretty slick birdie on # 11. He was blocked by trees and wanted to pitch out, leaving himself an 80 yard shot. It ended up 82 yards from the stick, which he commenced to plop into the hole for a tidy 3.
August 14th: During Week One of the Club Championship, Wes Elder threw in an exclamation point with a deuce on #7. That hole helped him to a healthy second round lead over the field.
July 25th: Deb Showalter showed who’s boss by acing #13 today. Witnesses were Patty Dodson and Connie Bolger.
July 12th: Some guys will do anything to keep their name in the lights. During league play, Roger Oswald, from the gold tees on #4, managed to send his drive high over the trees to the right (almost directly right) of the tee INTO the rain shelter. Hide the women and children when Roger is in town!
July 12th: In Men’s League play, perfectionist Steve Beach played two perfect shots on hole #8. His hardy drive was followed by a 56 degree wedge into the cup for an eagle 2. Way to go, Steve!
Congratulations to Chris Metzger and his hole-in-one on #13! It was Chris’s third and happened on July 2nd off the blue tees. Watching in dumbfounded amazement were Don McCready, Matt McCahan and Jerry Weaver.
Kicking off the season is the foursome of Rick Grubb, Keith McGraw, Mike Emerick and Len Snowberger. During the Opening Day Scramble in very windy conditions, they managed a score of 57, with a smooth 25 on the back nine (7 birds, 2 eagles). Congrats, gentlemen!
